The exchange's mobile app is another way into the account you use on its website. This page covers finding the real app, signing in for the first time, and keeping it up to date.

Where do I download the exchange's app?

The exchange publishes its app under its own name, on Apple's App Store and on Google Play. Not every exchange publishes on both, and some have no app yet.

The safest way to reach the right listing is from the exchange's own website. If its home page shows App Store or Google Play buttons, tap the one for your phone: they lead straight to the exchange's listing. If the website says the app is coming soon, or shows no store buttons at all, there is nothing to download yet.

You can also search the store for the exchange's name. Before you install, check that the developer shown on the listing is the exchange itself. An app from someone else that looks similar can be used to collect your email address and password, so if you are not sure which listing is real, ask the exchange's support before you sign in.

Do I need a new account to use the app?

No. The app signs in to the same exchange as the website, so it uses the same account. Open the app and sign in with the email address and password you use on the website. Your balances, orders, identity verification and security settings are the same in both places, because the exchange holds them, not your phone. If your account has two-factor authentication turned on, the app asks for a code after your password, just as the website does — see Two-factor authentication in the app.

If you have no account yet, tap Sign Up on the app's sign-in screen — see Signing in to the app.

If you created your account on the website with Google, use Continue with Google in the app when the exchange offers it there. When it does not, your account has no password to sign in with yet: use Forgot Password? to set one, then sign in with your email address and that password — see Resetting your password in the app.

The app has no crypto-wallet sign-in, even if the website offers one. Use your email address and password instead.

Which phones can run the app?

The app is made for Android phones and for iPhones. The listing in your store shows which versions of Android or iOS it needs, and which devices it supports.

If the store says the app is not compatible with your device, or will not let you install it, the usual reason is that your phone's system is older than the app supports. Check your phone's settings for a system update. If none is offered, your phone cannot run the app, but your account still works on the exchange's website in your phone's browser.

The app needs an internet connection to show prices, balances and orders, because all of them come from the exchange as you use it. If it cannot reach the exchange, see Problems with the app.

The app's screens are in English. It opens in a dark theme, and you can switch to a light one from the app itself — Problems with the app explains how.

Why can't I find the app in my store?

The exchange decides which stores its app is published on and in which countries it is offered. A search for the exchange's name can find nothing when:

  • it is not offered in your country. A store lists an app only in the countries its publisher chose, and the country of your store account decides which list you see;
  • it is on the other store only, or not published yet — the exchange's website shows which store buttons it has;
  • your phone cannot run it, as described above.

In each case the exchange's website still works with the same account. Ask the exchange's support whether the app is offered where you live.

Even with the app installed, a few features can be closed to you in the app because of your country or your verification level, while the rest of your account works normally. The app says so when you open one — see Problems with the app.

How do I update the app?

Updates come from the App Store or Google Play, like any other app. The app does not update itself, and nothing inside it tells you that a new version is out. The simplest way to stay current is to turn on automatic updates in your store, or open the app's listing and tap Update when it appears.

To see which version you have, open Profile (the gear icon at the top right of Home), then Open-source Licenses in the Legal card. The top of that page shows the version number. Include it when you contact support about a problem in the app.

Your money and your account are held by the exchange, not in the app, so updating does not change your balances, your orders or your account's settings. If a problem you reported is fixed in a newer version, the exchange's support may ask you to update before trying again.
